Transitions
"“Life is one big transition.”
- Willie Stargell
Happy Tuesday fellow readers! Today is gonna be a great day, I can just feel it! May you all have a fruitful day ahead. 🌞

In today's newsletter, we will be covering LG's cross-carrier payment blockchain, the launching of Bitfinex's new decentralized crypto exchange and 'Cryptojacked' municipal sites in India. Hope you enjoy today's newsletter. Happy reading! 📚
It's a struggle
The cryptospace is taking another 'L (loss)' today as it is back below the $200 billion mark in total market capitalization, falling ~$7 billion to ~$197 billion from yesterday. It seems that we are struggling to hold this $200 billion total market capitalization mark. Most cryptocurrencies are down in the ~1-5% range today. 😢

BTC is also down ~1.59% to ~$6,354. It is still trading below the 4 major EMA resistance lines (21, 50, 100 and 200). Yesterday, BTC challenged the 21-day EMA resistance line and failed to break past it. It remains to be the first hurdle BTC has to clear to potentially ignite another bull run. BTC shorts are also back at yearly high levels, indicating strong bearish sentiment. 🐻
Transitioning
Bitfinex has launched an Ethereum-based hybrid decentralized cryptocurrency exchange, "Ethfinex Trustless", that provides a liquid, off-chain order book that does not require users to hand over the custody of their tokens. 👮

To trade on Ethfinex Trustless, no signups or KYC requirements are required, and users don’t even need to provide their name, email, phone number, or address. Withdrawal and deposit delays would also be minimized due to its decentralized nature. The platform currently offers 40+ tokens to trade from. 🍻
Obstacles along the way
Recently, municipal government websites in the state of Andhra Pradesh of India were compromised, and running crypto mining scripts without their owners' knowledge. 😠

Cryptomining software such as Coinhive was used to mine on behalf of the hackers who input the scripts, also known as "cryptojacking." Municipal sites tend to be big targets as they have high traffic and people usually trust them. 🎯
Pressing on
South Korean cellular carrier LG Uplus, which is under the LG Corporation conglomerate, is partnering with Japan's SoftBank, Taiwan's Far EasTone Telecommunications and U.S.'s TBCASoft to trial a blockchain-based overseas payment service that will enable users of these three mobile carriers to make fast and secure purchases at select retailers using their cellphones when they travel to Taiwan, Korea and Japan. 🤖

The cross-carrier payment blockchain is expected to launch early 2019 to help users avoid costly international card transactions. The service bills will be paid in users' home countries and in their national fiat currency via their mobile bills.
Getting the hang of it
  • The Ukrainian parliament wants to implement a 5% tax on any cryptocurrency-related profits by individuals and commercial entities in its country. 💸
  • According to a a recent joint-research by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and auditing firm PwC, there are 65+ ways blockchain tech can address some of the most urgent environmental challenges facing the world. 👍
  • The chief accountant for the SEC, Wesley Bricker, recently said during the AICPA National Conference on Banks & Saving Institutions in Washington, D.C, that companies have a responsibility to follow accounting standards when working with blockchain and digital assets. 🤔

What you said
How much do you agree: "There are just some fears that you cannot overcome"

The average was 6.3. 22.2% voted a '10' too. It seems that some fears are extremely difficult to overcome. Some friends of mine have Trypophobia (fear of small holes), and photos of such creep them out every single time no matter how many times they look at them. 🤣

What is your greatest fear? And why?

You guys said:

Drowning. Probably from the way my Dad taught me to swim, by throwing me in the local reservoir and shouting at me to swim to shore. - Oh nooo, that's sounds horrible! True definition of "0-100 real quick". Hard not to be scarred from that. 😲
Doing something stupid and failing my family. Money comes and goes and so do material possessions. They can all be replaced. But things like your spouse, kids, parents and so forth cannot be replaced. Treat them good! - You sir, deserve a clap. You are a good man. 👍
This downtrend lasting for another year - Although a likely possibility due to slowed adoption, let's hope not! 🙏
Dumped into a box of insects! Sound, feeling, vision, etc. All the senses Aaaahhh - GROSS. 🤢

When was the last time you overcame a fear of yours? How did you do it?

You guys said:

A trip to Maldives and swimming over the vibrant coral reef did it (overcame his fear of swimming). The amount of life and sheer diversity took my mind off the fact I was swimming. I can definitely recommend it for those with a similar fear. - Kudos to you! Must've felt empowering to finally overcome it. 👍
I have a young son and daughter so fear comes and goes often. But the best way to deal with it in my opinion is to go out and easy until you feel a little more comfortable and then going further ahead each time. And try not to make yourself too anxious. Bad decisions happen with high anxiety! Take a breath and try to relax. Calm yourself down. - Good tips! 😀
Take a deep breath, close your eyes and think that it will be fine 😉 - Keep calm, and carry on. 🌞
I overcome fomo all day everyday. Isn't that enough? - Hahah that's a good one mate! 🤣
