Couldn't hold 😓
Over the last 24 hours, total market capitalization dropped from ~$129.8 billion to ~$126.9 billion, with most coins seeing losses in the ~2-5% range. Notable mover of the day is Binance Coin (BNB), currently up ~19% for the day.
At time of writing, BTC is currently trading at ~$3,770, down ~1.83% from yesterday. BTC was unable to hold the 50-day EMA support line on the daily chart, and thus is now trading below it. RSI level on the daily chart dropped further from ~51.9 to ~47.8. BTC has now broken into a new trading pattern. It's gonna be interesting to see how this is gonna transpire, but chances are we will be seeing some downward price action. 👀
Broadened scope 👀
Tether is looking to launch its stablecoin (USDT) as a native token on the Tron blockchain. It has partnered with Tron to launch the dollar-pegged USDT stablecoin as a TRC-20 token. Currently, Tether only exists as a stablecoin built on the Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains
The addition of this TRC-20 USDT will allow users to more easily transact with decentralized applications (dapps) and protocols based on the Tron blockchain, and thus improve decentralized exchange liquidity and improve Tron's accessibility to institutional investors. 👌🏻
The new version of USDT is expected to launch in Q2.
Making amends 🔨
Following the online criticism over its acquisition of the blockchain analytics firm Neutrino, Coinbase will be letting go of several employees. 👋
According to Coinbase’s CEO, Brian Armstrong, the firm will be letting go of Neutrino’s employees who has worked for the IT startup called Hacking Team, regardless of whether they are not currently affiliated with the startup. In the past, Neutrino’s top management has led projects for Hacking Team, a startup who aided governments known for human rights abuses. 🤦♂️
According to Armstrong, Coinbase "had a gap in our diligence process" in that while they "looked hard at the technology and security of the Neutrino product, we [they] did not properly evaluate everything from the perspective of our [its] mission and values as a crypto company.” 🧐
Gotta stay afloat 🏊♀️
According to a report from The Information, crypto finance startup Circle Internet Financial is looking to raise a further $250 million in funding via a combination of equity and debt financing. 🤑
Circle offers several services, including crypto buying via its Circle Invest app and an over-the-counter (OTC) trading desk for institutional clients.
The firm previously raised at least $246 million and was also backed by Goldman Sachs, but now seeks more funding due to the prolonged cryptocurrency bear market (according to the report). 🐻
In other news, Circle has also just closed its acquisition of the equity crowdfunding platform SeedInvest, so as to pave the way for the company to tokenize securities in the future.
A term used on the Ethereum platform that refers to the price you are willing to pay for a transaction. Setting a higher gas price will incentivize miners to prioritize that transaction over others.

How much do you agree with this statement: "I am disappointed in Coinbase's decision to acquire Neutrino"
The average vote was 7.4.
"Why do you say so?"
Neutrino past dealings - True. They definitely should have looked deeper into the company they were acquiring. 🧐 Because with the purchase of Neutrino, Coinbase is in direct violation of their mission statement of being an open financial system that is not controlled by any one country or company! - Give power back to the people! 😠 no clue at all, i dont use coinbase. also hearing about Neutrino for the first time.. don't know what i missed. - the founders of Neutrino were the same folks who spearheaded Hacking Team, a notorious Italian IT firm whose software has helped authoritarian governments spy on their citizens. 🤦♂️
The crypto community is founded on freeing people! fight back against these human rights violators! The decentralized army will put fear into those who choose gains over rights! - This is a revolution! 💪 It doesn’t weigh heavily on my day to day🤷🏼♂️ - #stayinyolane 😊 I am so torn about this. When does a tool become a weapon? When the weapon strikes who is to blame? The tool maker or the person holding the tool? - ): They are profiters nothing else - After all, they are a business. 🤑 This is a blatant attack on our interests. Bitcoin = freedom. Hacker Team is the opposite of freedom. It's better to buy bitcoin with Kraken, BTC Direct or BitFinex - I agree. A very costly lapse of judgement on their end. 💸 Cryptocurrency should be used to free the people, not to enslave them! - Yup!
