It's midweek, ladies and gents. I hope you're all having a great week so far. If aren't, hang in there! The weekend isn't too far away. 👍 On a side note, thank god the Notre Dame cathedral fire was finally put out. So sad to see such a travesty. 😔

Today in history (2011), the TV series based on the fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin, "Game of Thrones", premiered on HBO! And to those who caught the recent season 8 premier... Winter has come. 🥶😔

In today's newsletter, we will be covering professional services firm EY will be rolling out free blockchain design software, social investing platform eToro launching a crypto exchange along with 8 custom stablecoins and Los Angeles-based digital asset manager Arca seeking regulatory approval to sell shares of a new type of bond fund. Today, we also have a special announcement about our new CoinMarketCap mobile app!

Please don't forget to answer the polls down below too! It's a great way for us to interact with you all and hear what you have to say. 💭 Happy reading! 📚

Further consolidation 🤜🤛
Over the last 24 hours, total market capitalization climbed back from ~$172.8 billion to ~$176.8 billion, with most coins seeing gains in the ~1-5% range. Notable movers of the day are Tezos (XTZ) and Basic Attention Token (BAT), both up ~10.5% and ~12.4% respectively.

BTC is currently trading at ~$5,240, up ~3% over yesterday. It seems that we are still seeing further consolidation at the ~$5,000-$5,200 range. This has been going on for about 2 weeks now, indicative of persisting market indecision. RSI level on the daily chart is at ~68.

A big four push 👐
In May, Big Four professional services firm EY will be rolling out free software design, dubbed "Nightfall", that will assist corporate clients in using the Ethereum blockchain. 😊

The protocol was in development over the past year by EY's consulting firm’s team of over 200 blockchain developers. It was created for supply chains, food tracing, transactions between branches of a company and public finance.

Nightfall uses zero-knowledge proofs to enable private transactions on a shared ledger. However, Nightfall will be run on top of the public Ethereum network, not a private variant. 😲

EY is apparently open-sourcing the code of Nightfall, in an effort to "maximize adoption and community involvement", according to EY’s global innovation leader for blockchain, Paul Brody. He further explained that they "want people to adopt it, and adapt it, and improve it. If we [they] retain ownership, people may not invest that much time and energy in something they might not control'". 🙏🏻

Adoption driver 💪
Social investing platform eToro has launched a crypto exchange, along with 8 custom stablecoins. The platform is managed by eToroX, and is regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission.

6 cryptocurrencies are offered at launch, namely Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), Litecoin (LTC), and Dash (DASH). The exchange will also offer crypto-fiat trading in 37 various pairs such as BTC/USD and BTC/GBP. The 8 eToro-branded tokens will be pegged to 8 various fiat currencies, such as the USD (USDEX), JPY (JPYX), EURO (EURX) etc. According to eToroX's managing director, Doron Rosenblum, the exchange will add more cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and tokens "in the coming weeks". 👌🏻

According to eToro CEO and co-founder, Yoni Assia, the “greatest transfer of wealth” will occur as financial services move onto the blockchain as the tokenization of traditionally illiquid assets such as art, property and intellectual property will occur. 🤑

New financial product 💰
Los Angeles-based digital asset manager, Arca, has filed a prospectus with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) seeking regulatory approval to sell shares of a new type of bond fund to retail investors. 🙏

The shares of the bond fund will be tokenized on the Ethereum blockchain, dubbed “Arca UST Coins”, and will be a type of stablecoin that will maintain parity with the U.S. dollar. However, Arca has cautioned that it may be slightly less stable than other such products on the market.

The minimum investment in the fund will be $1,000, with a target net asset value (NAV) of $1 per share. The fund will primarily invest in U.S. Treasury securities, and investors will receive quarterly dividends from the interest payments.

Poll of the Day
How much do you agree with this statement: "The new CoinMarketCap mobile app is awesome" 💭
Why or why not? Share with me in the polls! 😆
What you said
"How much do you agree with this statement: "More universities should start offering undergraduate programs/ degrees on blockchain technology"

The average vote was a 8.5. 54.1% of y'all even voted a '10'. Make it happen, universities!

"Why or why not?"

We will need more people to help build the ecosystem - Agreed. We definitely could use more hands on deck! 👐
Education furthers adoption. - I wholeheartedly agree. I think that education is the biggest factor that can help drive adoption. 🤓
Block chain theory would be a minor curriculum in the Computer Science Department. Block chain, HashGraph and similar systems will be integral to the network of energy, transportation and internet of things - all of which will evolve to become central and indispensible in our lives over next 2-3 generations. - It's a revolution! ✊
They should maybe add a class or two into already existing computer science degree programs, but making it into it's own program / degree / major is kind of ridiculous IMO. Is there a major for "the internet"? Didn't think so. - The way I see it, is that blockchain in which intermediate mastery would require knowledge across multiple disciplines such as computer science (to learn how to build a blockchain), economics (to learn about market forces), finance (to learn about token economics and accounting) and marketing (to learn how to drive adoption). So with this I say, why not? 😉
Its our future - Damn straight it is! 😊
Knowledge is power. Spread the power. - Empower the masses! ✊
Spread the knowledge - Gotta share the knowledge. 😄
Heck, even from elementary! -
Lmao! Gotta start em young. 🤣
education is key - Most definitely!
We went from fiat currency to electronic currency, so why not build an investment/infrastructural curriculum for digital currency? Its inevitable. The more we reinforce our thinking relationships in terms of currency, the better off we'll be maintaining it as a whole. 🙏🏽🙏🏽💪🏾🙌🏾❤ -Donte' Reynolds - Going digital is inevitable! Just take a look at what's happening in China. You could literally survive with just your phone. 🤖
I agree!! We must move with the times!! - Gotta keep improving and moving forward! 🏃‍♂️
Because, any University that admit the Blockchain System now will dominate very soon. That is the latest tech that will take over the new generation. They do not have choice! - Blockchain systems truly seem like the next logical step to me. 😊
i totally agree universities should be offering. also for students should be looking to acquire knowledge in blockchain technology. also blockchain should be taught in both science & Business, Arts .. all fields of education. - I could not agree any less. I share the same sentiments. 😬
I would go back to university for it. It is the future and it in my humble opinion a field as important as medical degree - Well I don't think it's too late. There are online blockchain courses from reputable universities such as MIT! 👀
