It’ll come

Your daily newsletter for May 30, 2019
Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.”
- Aristotle
Fellow CoinMarketCap-ers, you've done well hanging in there yet another tough week. Just one more day till the weekend! Keep pressing on and know that your hard work is gonna be worth it. 💪

Today in history (1992), Spain became the 16th member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). ✍️

In today's newsletter, we will be covering Rakuten partnering with CipherTrace to help with compliance for its soon-to-be crypto exchange, Bitbond launching a security token offering (STO) that is the first to be approved by German financial regulator BaFin and Button Wallet adding fiat-to-crypto functionality.

Please don't forget to answer the polls down below too! It's a great way for us to interact with you all and hear what you have to say. 💭 Happy reading! 📚

An upper ☝️
Over the past 24 hours, total market capitalization rose from ~$272.3 billion to ~$280.4 billion, with most coins seeing gains in the ~2-7% range. 24 hour volume registered decently high levels at ~$88 billion. Several large movers today, including Bitcoin SV (BSV), Cosmos (ATOM), NEO (NEO) and ZCash (ZEC), each up ~45.9%, ~36.7%, ~14.5% and ~14.5% respectively. 📈

BTC is currently trading at ~$8,740, up ~1.1% over yesterday. It continues to trade above its major 50,100 and 200-EMA lines, a bullish indicator. However, RSI level on the daily chart currently stands at ~72, well within the 'oversold' region. BTC has been trading within this RSI zone for some time now, something you don't usually see. The last time BTC acted like this was during the huge bull run of Dec 2017. I believe that we are currently in a bull market, but I also think that we are due for a slight correction in the coming weeks.

Just to be safe 😬
Japanese e-commerce firm Rakuten has partnered with blockchain analytics firm CipherTrace to help with compliance as it prepares to launch its FSA-licensed cryptocurrency exchange. 🧐

With the platform already starting to accept account registrations last month, CipherTrace will now help to ensure that sound anti-money laundering (AML) processes are in place for the Tokyo-based Rakuten Wallet exchange platform. 👍

According to the head of the risk control department at Rakuten Wallet, Yoshinao Kiyama, “regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering protections are of the utmost importance” and they believe that “CipherTrace will provide us [them] the necessary tools needed to best support Rakuten Wallet.” 🔨

First! ☝️
Blockchain-based lending platform Bitbond claims to be launching a security token offering (STO) that is the first to be approved by German financial regulator BaFin. 😲

Founded in 2013, Bitbond provides working capital loans to small businesses that use e-commerce platforms like eBay and Amazon in Asia, and claims to have already processed over $15 million-worth of business loans.

Bitbond seeks to raise ~$3.9 million through the sale, so that it may continue providing loans to small businesses. The security token, dubbed BB1, works like a bond which Bitbond with a 10-year maturity date. In essence, Bitbond will buy back the BB1 tokens after 10 years. 💰

On-ramp 💲
Button Wallet, a messenger-based platform for sending payments and non-custodial wallet that permits the storing and exchanging of cryptocurrencies, has added fiat-to-crypto functionality and now permits the purchase of coins with U.S. dollars. Button Wallet is also integrated in messaging app, Telegram. 😍

The app boasts a 100,000-strong user base, with a concentration of users in the U.S., U.K., Indonesia, Venezuela and Germany. According to its COO Rachael McCrary, “for mass-market adoption of decentralized banking” to occur, you will need participation from more people and “make it easier for people to buy in.”
This new fiat on-ramp stems from a partnership with payment processor, Wyre.

According to Wyre’s director of institutional sales, Jack Jia, Wyre is “on a mission to help lower the barriers to entry for crypto platforms by offering them compliant ports into a regulated fiat world”. Initially, only U.S. dollars sent via automated clearing house (ACH) transfer will be supported for purchases, but Button Wallet plans to add fiat currencies from Europe and Asia soon. 🤗

Blockchain term of the day 🤓 - Ashdraked
A situation where you lose all your money, more specifically when you lose all your money shorting Bitcoin. This was based on a story of a Romanian trader who continued to short BTC when it went from $300 to $500, since he had made a lot of profit doing so historically. Adapt your trading strategy!

Poll of the Day
How much do you agree with this statement: "By the end of 2020, I believe that buying crypto would be as simple as purchasing a cup of coffee." 💭
Why or why not? Share with me in the polls! 😆
What you said
"How much do you agree with this statement: "Crypto news are the first type of news I read every day.""

The average vote was a 7.5. 38.6% of y'all voted a '10'! Woohoo! 💪

“Why or why not?”

I need to know how the market is moving. Need to watch for my investment – True. 😬

Cause i have money involved – Gotta protect your babies.

Just getting warmed up to the space – Glad to have you on this journey with us all. You’ll be brought up to speed in no time, so just hang tight!

Only kinda news I’m interested in, and I only lightly look over everything, wanna be in the know but I’ll be hodl till the time is right ☯️ - Hodl 4 life.

world news and Geo-political forces are more important to me. – Can’t blame ya. Truth be told, those cover more pressing issues.

The regular news is FAKE NEWS ! – I wouldn’t go so far to say everything is fake. However, I do believe that a great deal of what we see is part of a greater agenda though. 🙈

I read crypto news everyday but it is not a priority because there is so much on a daily basis and i also take a more long term approach! – Even if you take a long term approach it’s still good to know the nitty gritty! Do try to stay abreast with it. 👌🏻

i do check bitcoin & few other coins price along with daily news.. but crypto related news comes during the latter part of the day.. – I suppose you read this newsletter later on in the day as well. 😀

I usually read political stuff first then crypto stuff – Both are juicy! 😋

There is that time in the early morning around 4 am when the urge sometimes hits me. At the age of 68 I sleep less anyway. Cranking up the smartphone and seeing and reading about crypto news and activity in Asia is enthralling ! – Oh wow that’s really early. What time do you go to bed and wake up?! Hey, I personally love reading news about Asia as well! Allow me to recommend subscribing to the South China Morning Post! It does a great job with its Asian news coverage. 👍

Because I'm a crypto writer. – That is awesome! Do share with me some of your work! 😀

Easier to understand and informative – I can see how this is so.

First is fantasy baseball, then crypto, then the New York Times. – A potent combination. 😲

I subscribe to several news sources that go to my inbox. Crypto is the most exciting thing out there! I check my portfolio (I call it counting my money🤑) and then I read, read, read. After that I read some more. – Great that you have an insatiable thirst for knowledge. It's gonna greatly benefit you. 🤓

I usually go to Twitter or CoinMarketCap first – Hehe, thanks for the support! 💓

CMC newsletter is my first crypto news provider in the day and it's usually around 1pm over here in the UK when it comes 😉 – Danggg that made my day. Thank you so much for the support! Hope it stays that way!

Because i belive in future of – We all do too (:

There are more important issues in this world. – I agree. But what could possibly be more important than Craig Wright again claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto? 😂 Just kidding.

I have my alexa programmed to read me the latest crypto news and prices at 6 am every morning I then set my youtube playlist of crypto vlogs to listen to on the way to work. – Omg that’s really cool. Thanks for the idea. Imma do that too! If you can, do share how you program yours! 🙏🏻

I like news, but I like CMC and Blockfolio too 😀 (and Tinder) – All superb apps if you ask me. 👌🏻

Thank you all for reading! Catch you back here again tomorrow for your daily dose of crypto news! 💙
